There is often more to a paperweight than simply
a colourful piece of glass. Its design can be evoked from
a word or a daydream, an experience or an idea. Sometimes I like
to use the intricacy of glassmaking technique to create a new design.
There is a fascination of "How do you get the design in there?"
Paperweights are tactile objects. Handling them is a necessity
to fully appreciate the cool smooth glass and any hand polished
facets. One thing is certain. Once you take a close
look at a paperweight, you will begin to see all glass in a different
light. |
